However, with growing speculation about his future, Racing Santander's sporting director, Chema Aragon, was directly asked by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo about the club's stance on a potential deal. In response, Aragon expressed hope that Salinas would stay and hinted at the need to protect their sporting assets.
Aragon admitted: 'There’s little you can do if a superstar comes along,' referring to the possibility of another club making a bid that matches Salinas' release clause. He also addressed Salinas directly, stating: 'If he stays, his growth will have to be reflected in his contract.'
The sporting director further emphasized Racing Santander's intention to strengthen itself rather than weaken with stars, suggesting that the club is unlikely to let Salinas leave easily unless a high enough bid is made. Only time will tell if Manchester United or any other clubs decide to make an offer that could sway the situation in their favor.
For now, it appears Racing Santander remains committed to retaining its promising young talent.
